Necklace in 18 kt yellow gold, 50 cm, with a cross pendant in cushion-cut pink tourmalines — designed to be worn as a pendant or carried independently as a brooch.
The cross is constructed in laminated and hand-shaped yellow gold wires on multiple overlapping levels, unfurling into irradiated volutes toward the ends of each arm, with tiny gold spheres soldered at the nodes and terminations as decorative elements. This structure lends the piece an almost organic quality — it appears grown rather than constructed — and light passes through it differently at every angle, revealing the three-dimensionality of the work. At the centre of the cross rests a cushion-cut pink tourmaline — the principal stone, focal point of the entire composition. A second pink tourmaline of the same cut is set at the upper terminal of the necklace, creating a chromatic continuity between the pendant and the chain that draws the eye upward before it moves to the centre. The two stones together weigh a total of 6.55 ct. On the reverse of the cross, a hinged white gold pin with a barrel clasp allows the transition from pendant to brooch without altering the form or the visual balance of the piece.
This cross was born as an image of transformation. It represents not an ending, but the possibility of being reborn, of changing, of becoming oneself. The upper element evokes the origin — that from which all things begin. A jewel that carries within it a thought both simple and profound.
